Gratitude Journal Day 19

Today I am thankful for:

1) a job with benefits.  When I left my full-time teaching position, I could have gone back to substitute teaching.  I opted instead to take a job as an aid.  This way I get sick days and personal days and dental insurance, which we lost when the hubby retired, for a dollar a pay.

2) the demonstration of faith that I see at school.  When people are sick, we get mass e-mails letting us know what is going on and thanking us for prayer.  In an English class where I work, we recently read Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by Tennessee Williams.  There are instances of swear words in the play, and the teacher did NOT allow the kids to take God’s name in vain.

3)  all the Christmas lights in our community, which were lit last night after the parade.  In addition to the picture I posted the other day, there is a nativity scene.  My favorite is the twelve days of Christmas, but you can also see dinosaurs and buffalo. (I guess it gets hard to figure out how to use over 2 million Christmas lights.)  Touring through those is one of my favorite parts of this season.
