Gratitude Journal, Day 18

Today I am thankful for…

58. …the people at my school.  Again.  There is a teacher at our school who is taking chemo for skin cancer and is facing months of treatment.  He tries to work when he cans.  They were passing around an inspirational book for him today, and everyone on the staff was to pick a page and write him  a message of encouragement.  Aren’t they wonderful people?

59. …Singing.  The Bible says in Psalm 22:3 that the Lord inhabits the praises of His people, and a song is one of the best methods of praise that I know of.  Tonight we had our Thanksgiving dinner at church, and we sang “Come Ye Thankful People Come.”   I really felt it bring us into the presence of the Lord.  Our pastor had it right when he reminded us that one of the best ways to “enter God’s gates with thanksgiving.”

60.  …some people at church took the rest of this cake off my hands.  There was less than half left, but I have very little control when it comes to sweets, and it’s best not to have them around.

    Hi Becky,

That cake looks and sounds delicious. I’m like you and don’t have a lot of self control when it comes to sweets, but I sure am glad that sweets will grace our Thanksgiving table! LOL
