Shakespeare’s Birthday

I make cookies for Shakespeare’s birthday every year, but this year I found particularly enjoyable because Thursday is also Talk Like Shakespeare Day, and I was remembering some erasers that my father brought home from Stratford for my children when they were their early high school years.  (He liked to take my mom there.)

Anyway…guess what it said on the erasers.  It’s a quote from Lady MacBeth–“Out, damned spot!”  I was appalled, but the kids were pretty impressed with the grandpa.  I told the freshman English teacher this story, but we did NOT tell the kids.  I am sure we’d be hearing that particular quote until the end of the school year!
