Prayer Requests

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7).

Today I am just going to ask that you pray for some things because they are really adding up.  I have been praying, but more and more need keeps showing up.

A boy at our high school committed suicide on Monday.  His funeral is today.  This is the second suicide at our little school in two years.  The boy had heard the Gospel, but I don’t know if he was a believer.  He would have graduated at the end of May.  Please pray for his family and friends, our school, and the community.

My friend Hannah has started chemotherapy for her cancer, lymphoma.  She is a teacher and wants to work during  her treatment.  Please pray that she will be able to do so, and that she will be extra aware of God’s presence in her life.  Her sister is fighting cancer as well.

One of my husband’s former co-workers on the railroad, JR, was diagnosed with brain cancer and lung cancer a little over a year ago.  He has undergone treatment and surgeries, but the cancer has spread to the bone.  He will receive radiation treatments, but they will just ease the pain.  Neither he or his wife are believers.

One of my co-workers, Sharon,  found out yesterday that her 30-something daughter-in-law has brain cancer.  That’s not the primary site.  The doctors are looking for the cancer’s origin.  Sharon has been taking care of her 89-year-old dad, who is nearing the end of his life.

Thank you.
