Wednesday September 24: See You at the Pole

Tomorrow at my school, there will be students, staff and faculty gathered around the flagpole praying.  They’ll be there early.  At 7 AM.  This is the challenge issued to young people on the See You at the Pole website:

It’s tough being a Christian student today, isn’t it? You have to make a lot of choices about who you are—and who you’re not. You have to try and follow God in a world that misunderstands Christianity and tolerates its principles less and less all the time.

What if, like Samuel you:
—made a connection with God as a young person?
—declared,
“Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening”?
—never let any of God’s words “fall to the ground” in your own life?

Never let any of God’s words fall to the ground?  That’s a hefty challenge for any Christian!  Especially in this election year, if we and our young people asked the Lord to speak and listened, what could we accomplish?

Please pray for the students and faculty who choose to honor God by showing up at their school flagpoles tomorrow.  Last year, you could connect to the See You at the Pole website and see how many people participated.  I assume things will work the same way this year.  And with me, please praise God that we live in a country where public prayer like this is still allowed.
