Taking God out of the Ten Commandments?

I don’t exactly see how that is possible, but it appears that Disney has done it. At least with the advertisements Radio Disney was to air for the movie The Ten Commandments.

Has political correctness gone too far? Cindy Bond, President and CEO of Promenade Pictures, the makers of the film, thought Disney’s stand was offensive because, of course, God is the main character in the movie. She chose, however, to redo the ad which stated that Moses was chosen by God because,If you get them into the theater, they’ll hear plenty about God.

I hope so!

Disney says they asked for the change because the original ad made it sound like the actors in the film, not Moses, were chosen by God. As a former English teacher, I can understand why they would want clarification. I was offended by Disney’s ads for the movie Underdog. Now let me think this out…they put God IN an ad for a movie about a DOG, and they take Him OUT of the advertisement for a movie in which He’s a major player.

Is there something wrong with this picture?

You can listen to the “chosen” ad and Disney’s rewrite and decide for yourself.

Let me know what you think.

Um, yeah. I’m not quite down with the whole “….Elliot Gould; chosen by God” phrasing. If I’m to choose between the two, I go with number two.
