Good Neighbors

My dad, who will be eighty-one, next Tuesday, e-mailed to tell me that the next-door neighbor had cleaned out his gutters. The neighbor didn't ask. Dad just heard him. A couple of years ago, Dad was trying to clean the gutters on the garage and slipped. He held on to the gutter, which bent and twisted as he fell, but at least he wasn't hurt. I am VERY thankful for his neighbor.

Then a friend of mine who is a widow and recently had surgery, shared that one of her neighbors, a man in his seventies, showed up to mow her lawn without being asked. He had heard of my friend's surgery from another neighbor.

There ARE a lot of good people out there. Sometimes we need to hear about them so we will remember that.
